Welcome! This year marks EQsential's 10th anniversary, and it reflects more than a decade of advancing the strategic use of emotional intelligence across education and organizations. With over 15 years of experience in both secondary and higher education, as well as extensive work in organizational development, I've seen how emotional intelligence-measured through EQ-serves as a critical differentiator for performance, leadership, and well-being.
At EQsential, we don't treat emotional intelligence as a "nice to have." We position it as an essential capability that drives measurable personal and professional outcomes.
As an expert in emotional intelligence, I design and deliver results-driven coaching, certification, and training solutions that translate insight into action. My work focuses on strengthening leadership capacity, improving team dynamics, increasing resilience, and supporting cultures where people thrive. As EQsential enters its next decade, our mission remains clear: equip people and organizations with the emotional intelligence needed to meet complex demands and achieve sustainable success.

In higher education, emotional intelligence (EI) development fosters better relationships between faculty and students, creating a more conducive learning environment.

In secondary education, EI helps teachers manage classroom behavior, recognize and address students’ emotional needs, and build a supportive community.

First responders face high-stress situations regularly. EI development helps them manage stress, make quick, effective decisions, and communicate calmly under pressure.
EI development aids active duty and veteran military members in managing the emotional challenges of service and transitioning to civilian life.

HR professionals with high EI can better handle employee relations, mediate conflicts, and create a positive organizational culture. They can read and respond to employees’ emotions, leading to more effective conflict resolution and employee satisfaction.

Industrial-Organizational psychologists use EI to enhance workplace productivity and employee well-being. High EI allows them to design interventions that improve organizational climate and employee engagement.

Coaches with high EI can better understand their clients’ emotions and challenges, providing more effective guidance and support.

In the medical field, EI is essential for patient care, teamwork, and managing the emotional demands of the job. Healthcare providers with high EI can communicate effectively with patients, showing empathy and understanding.

In politics and government, EI is crucial for building coalitions, negotiating, and leading effectively. Politicians and government employees with high EI can better understand and address the concerns of their constituents, foster bipartisan cooperation, and manage the stresses of public service.

EQsential can now provide ICF CCE credits for the EQ-i 2.0/360 Certification! We can offer 11.25 Core Competency hours and 5.75 Resource Development hours.
